Recurring tasks

You can make a task recurring on a custom basis. Tasks will be automatically copied with their Title, Description, Tags, and Checklists.

Each Team member can enable or disable Addons at any time.


There are a few ways to enable the Recurring tasks feature.

1. Project view

The first way is to turn on the Addon in a specific project. To do that navigate to the target project and click on the "puzzle" icon in the upper-right corner. 


Next, find the Recurring tasks feature on the list and click on the switch button to turn it on.

 By default, this feature will be added to all projects. You can turn it off by navigating to the specific project or editing it in the Addons settings view.


2. Addons settings

The second way is to enable the Recurring tasks addon for specific projects only. 

Depending on your account role open Workspace settings or Profile settings and navigate to the Addons tab or simply choose the Integrations option from the list under your profile icon.


Next, find the Recurring taks module and click on the Add to Planner button. By default, this feature will be added to all projects.


A "3 dots" button will appear next to the Recurring tasks module. After you click on it you can select if Recurring tasks should be added to all projects or only to specific ones.


To set a specific task as a recurring one click on the "3 dots" button next to it and choose the "Make recurring" option from the list.


An edit panel will appear where you can define the following rules for recurring:

  • Repeat every - input a number and choose between day, week, month and year period;
  • Repeat on - depending on the period you set here you can choose the exact day of the week/month/year the task should repeat;
  • List - choose a list a recurring task should be added to and if should appear on the top or on the bottom of the list;
  • Due date - optionally define if a recurring task should have a due date;


A recurring task will automatically appear on the list only on the specific date you set. Until that specific time, recurring task won't be visible on the list. 

If you archive a task that was set as recurring a new one still will appear based on the settings you defined.


To remove the recurring option from the task, click on the "3 dots" button next to it, choose the "Upcoming" option from the list, and Remove recurrency from the edit panel.
